HID Building Access- How to Guide

Residents can now use the HID Mobile Access app from HID Global to securely enter the building using their smartphone or wearable device—no physical access card required.

How it works
Once you receive your invitation email, simply download the app, follow the setup steps, and redeem your Mobile ID. When your administrator issues your credential, it will appear in the app and you’re ready to unlock doors.

Ways to open doors
You can access doors in several convenient ways:

• Tap/Enhanced Tap: Hold your phone near the reader like a key card.

• Twist & Go: A quick wrist twist activates your credential.

• Nearby Readers: Select a door from the list when you’re close by.

• Widgets or Smartwatch: Unlock without opening the app.

Tips for best performance

• Keep Bluetooth, Location, and background refresh enabled.

• Tag frequently used doors as Favorites for faster access.

• Update the app when prompted to avoid interruptions.
