Induction to the Communal Labs

Induction is a prerequisite for using certain pieces of communal equipment. Staff will complete a capability list at the conclusion of their Jumar induction to assess the equipment induction requirements. The scheduling of these induction sessions will be made available to residents as they begin using the equipment and can be arranged by contacting the Facilities Manager.

Completing the induction, Residents are obligated to follow SOPs and standard practice when operating any piece of communal equipment. Residents are also expected to follow booking times for all bookable pieces of equipment.


All equipment manuals are accessible online and in hard copy. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for key equipment can be found both at the equipment location and online here for easy reference.
