Across our three national incubators, we support science and technology ventures with commercialisation training, industry access, and a collaborative community of founders, researchers, and partners.
Our flagship incubator in Everleigh is housed in a repurposed heritage railway workshop — once a site where train engines were forged, and where, 25 years ago, a new kind of revolution began. Not one of steel and steam, but of science, ideas, and innovation. It was here that Cicada Innovations — Australia’s first deep tech incubator — was born.
Since then, we’ve grown to include two more specialist hubs: the Cicada HealthTech Hub in Westmead and Jumar Bioincubator in Melbourne.
Cicada's HealthTech Hub, located within the Westmead Health and Innovation District, focuses on early-stage health and MedTech startups. It offers incubation, commercialisation training, resources, and collaborative spaces, while also serving as a strategic entry point for industry partners to tackle research and business challenges, enhancing Westmead's position as a global health and education innovation district.
Jumar Bioincubator is Australia's first and only biotech incubator co-located with a biopharmaceutical company in a top-tier biomedical precinct. It supports biotech startups by fostering innovation translation, research commercialisation, and talent development, ensuring that skilled scientists are equipped to lead successful biotech companies.
